The Chair of the SIGN, Andrew Harvey (who is Group Head of Information Governance and DPO at Brighton and Sussex University and Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trusts), said that "it is hugely humbling to see some of the wonderful work that colleagues are doing in the Information Governance field up and down the country, often as lone voices in their organisations". He continued “it felt like the time was right to honour some of that hard and sometimes lonely work, we had a wonderful response to the awards, and our winners are just amazing in their enthusiasm to make things better for service users by better management of their information. I truly want to congratulate them all, and indeed all of the nominees.”
The Awards were judged by a panel of Information Governance experts from around the country, with all nomination statements being blinded by name, gender and location.
